Multi-Generational Trauma Recovery
Training Program

At the request of and with support from The Angkor Institute of Consciousness, under the direction of Dr Julie Svay, Dr. Beth Hedva developed then traveled to Cambodia to complete a series of CITIS Certification Trauma Recovery Training workshops in the national capital of Phnom Penh for key staff of the Community Mental Health Hospital, operated by the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). Under the supervision of Executive Director Dr. Chhim Sotheara, a clinical expert and academic researcher on post- traumatic stress disorder and cross-cultural psychiatry, the TPO organization embodies the role of dealing with the ongoing multi-generational post Vietnam war trauma that continues to be a major burden throughout much of the country.

The staff taking the CITIS certification program developed by Dr Hedva included doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists and gender-violence counsellors. .
